SM on bk/Op
A combination of the Stage Manager & Deputy Stage Manager roles - responsible for being "on book" (following the script and prompting actors in rehearsals) and operating technical elements like lighting or sound during performances.
Responsibilities
- Attend all rehearsals, creating rehearsal notes which are distributed to the creative team.
- Follow the script and prompt actors as needed during rehearsals.
- Create and maintain the prompt copy, documenting all cues and changes for the production.
- Run the technical sessions in the theatre, integrating the lighting, sound and technical elements into the production.
- Call cues for lighting and technical effects throughout the performance (operating if needed).
- Call sound cues or operate the QLab system during performances, ensuring cues are executed accurately.
- Ensure smooth transitions and cue execution during performances.
